The Brookover family name has long been synonymous with agriculture, beginning with Earl C. Brookover. His interest in irrigation led to an increase in feed grain production and eventually led to the dawn of commercial cattle feeding in the High Plains region. Still family owned today, Earl Brookover, Jr. now works in close partnership with his son, Ty Brookover and daughter, Amanda Brookover Lee. Brookover Feed Yards Inc. has three feed yard locations: Brookover Feed Yard and Brookover Ranch Feed Yard, both located near Garden City and Brookover Feed Yard Scott City, which sits just north of Scott City. Together, they have a combined capacity of over 100,000 head.
